A silver probable Post Medieval coin; probably a fourpence of William and Mary to Anne, dating from AD 1689 - 1714. The coin has been polished smooth, possibly once bent into an S shaped profile, then flattened again, and counterstamped with M C in relief in a recessed rectangle. On the other face is stamped a large C or incomplete annulet. No details of the original coin design survive. Measurements are; diameter 19.5mm, thickness 0.7mm and weight 1.36g.
