A complete silver halfgroat of Henry VII (AD 1485 - 1509), c. AD 1490-1500. Description: This is a halfgroat of the two arches jewelled crown type, from the mint in Canterbury. Obverse: Crowned bust facing, the inscription reads: +HENRIC DI GRA REX ANG ET FRANC. Reverse: Longcross with three pellets in each quarter, the inscription reads: POSVI / DEVM A / DIVTO / R MEV // CIVI / TAS / CAN / TOR. Measurements: Diameter: 19.72 mm; Thickness: 0.66 mm and Weight: 1.33 g. Discussion: See Spink, No.2211 and North, No.1712 (Class IIIc).
