A silver Medieval coin; a groat of Henry VI, first reign (AD 1422 - 1461), annulet issue (AD 1422 - 1427), probably young bust, so dating from AD 1425 - 1427. Mint of Calais. See North number 1427 on page 74 of North, Volume 2 (1991).
The coin is bent and has been pierced between 11 and 12 o'clock on the obverse. The hole is circular, 2.8mm diameter, and was worked from the obverse. The displaced metal has been neatly smoothed. The coin is 26.5mm diameter, 1mm thick and 3.46g.
