A clipped Medieval silver groat of Edward III (1327-1377), minted at London.
Obverse: Crowned bust facing within a tresure of arches, with no pellets or fleurs above the crown. The lettering on the outer edge has been worn and clipped, thus hard to distinguish.
Reverse: Inner circle with CIVITAS LONDON, with two pellets in T·A·S, unbarred Ns, an annulet in the DON quadrant. Long cross pattee diving the legend with three pellets in each angle.
This coin has therefore been identified as Series G (1356-1361), Standard Type F, ref: 1197 (North, 1991, p. 53).

There is a large tear in the coin 16.45mm long at around 2 o'clock on the obverse, and part of the exterior of the flan is missing at around 2 o'clock on the obverse.
