The initial mark and the beginning of the obverse legend is clipped but reads [HENRIC] REX ANGLI[E]. Double saltire stops also present in the obverse legend. A medieval hammered silver penny. The obverse has a forward facing bust with a pellet to the left of the crown, the legend is illegible. The reverse has a long cross with an annulet or quatrefoil centre, perhaps indicating the York mint. The reverse legend is also illegible. The obverse design suggests the coin might be of Henry IV-see North 1362 (AD 1412-1413). The coin appears to have been mis-struck, with the reverse design duplicated slightly off centre.
