A fragmented silver penny probably of Richard I (AD 1189 to 1199). The obverse depicts a forward facing crowned bust although this is quite worn so facial details are not visible. The legend is still visible on the larger part of the coin and reads HENRICVS. The reverse depicts a voided short cross with a quatrefoil in each angle. The legend reads WILLELM ON LVND. The coin is in two parts and there is clear damage to the smaller half. There is a cut along the border of the legend perhaps suggesting an intention to reuse the coin in another way.
