Coin has been folded from 11 o'clock and 5 o'clock position on obverse. The reverse is obscurred.

The coin has been damaged, leaving the coin in two parts consisting of the outer legend and a seperate central portrait. It has a diameter of 18.98mm, a thickness of 0.61mm and it weighs 1.3g.

A struck/ hammered silver cut half penny of Richard, minted between 1189-1191 AD (length: 18.9mm; width: 9mm; thickness: 0.8mm; weight: 0.58g). Classified as a Class 2 in Wren's 'The Short Cross Coinage 1180-1247: Henry II to Henry III', page 46. Characterisitcally, there are three curls each side of the face on the obverse. The coin was minted by Tvrkil in York. The coin is in aslightly worn but fair condition, with most of the detail still visible.
