EDWARD DI GRA REX ANGL Z FRANC DNS HIBERNIE, forward facing bust, CIVITAS LONDON reverse type with solid long cross, three pellets in each quadrant. North 1608, p89. (North, JJ, 1991, English Hammered Coinage, Vol 2, p 89, no 1608). There is a small hole in the coin, on the top left of the crown, but the irregular shape and placement does not indicate this was a purposeful piercing to alter the use of the coin.
