A medieval silver long cross halfpenny of Henry VI dating to AD 1422-1427.  hENRIC REX ANGL obverse depicting a crowned bust facing with an annulet on either side of the neck and saltire stops.  VILLA CALIS reverse depicting a long cross with three pellets in each quarter and annulets in the centre of two quarters beneath VIL and CAL and saltire stops.  Initial mark is a plain cross.  Mint of Calais.  North vol 2, p 75, no 1435.

A Medieval (1422-27) silver halfpenny of Henry VI (1421-61; 1470-71). The coin is of the annulet issue. It measures 13mm and weighs 0.40g (6.2gn). The halfpenny is almost unworn, but there is some old damage across the bust from a dent at the edge. Obverse: Crowned bust facing, annulets by neck + initial cross II HENRIC REX ANGL. Reverse: Long cross with three pellets in quarters, annulet in VIL and CAL quarters + VIL LA: CAL IS: double saltire stops. Mint: Calais Reference: North 1435
