A medieval silver coin of Edwardian/long cross type, probably a halfpenny of Edward III (1327-77), possibly Treaty Series (1361-69), Withers and Withers type 17 (North 1274) on the shape of the bust and weight of coin, mint: London (unclear but most likely). It is also possible that the coin is a penny of Edward IV (1461-83).  The coin is in poor condition, very worn and clipped, removing much of the inscription and clarity of the design. The weight of the coin at 0.58g (albeit clipped) would place it at the upper end for an Edward III halfpenny and lower end for an Edward I…

The coin has been gilded and its use has therefore been altered, possibly for a token or keepsake and therefore would qualify as Treasure under the stipulations of the Act. There is no evidence for a mount or of attempts at piercing, which suggests that the object was not intended to be a pendant.
