Issued 1373-1415 - identification from UK Detector Finds Database, verified by Rod Blunt, and kindly supplied by the finder. A late medieval copper alloy English Jetton that has been reused as a brooch or dress fitting. A lozenge shaped plate of copper alloy has been riveted to the centre of the reverse of the jetton, allowing to be used as a hooked tag. Both ends of the plate are pointed and curled over to form a hook; one end is curled beneath and the other to the front. This reworked jetton fits with the well known tradition of converting coins into jewellery in the 13th and 14th centuries.
