Remains of a copper alloy disc, probably a coin. This is badly corroded and may possibly be a Northumbrian styca, although it may also be a later medieval/post-medieval issue, possibly foreign. A copper alloy Early Medieval Northumbrian coin: a styca, unassigned to a ruler. Unusually, it appears to have a moneyer's name on both sides: Earduulf and Uulfred. It is 13mm in diameter and 1.4mm thick. It weighs 0.87gm. This appears to be a double moneyer coin, examples of which do appear sometimes. Whether it relates to a certain ruler/archbishop is not certain but it is more likely to be a double moneyer coin than an irregular styca which are often illegible or illiterate.
