A worn and clipped silver half groat of Edward IV (AD 1461-1483) dating to AD 1465-1466. Pall initial mark. Mint of Canterbury (Episcopal). No spur on the reverse. The obverse die has an error in that the 'W' is missing.  Ref: North (1991: 88), no. 1590, Type VIb. Obverse: Crowned bust facing, ED'ARD DI GRA [REX ANGL Z FR]A Reverse: Long cross dividing the inscriptions with three pellets in each quadrant, CIVI/TAS/CAN/TOR Measurements: Diameter (Maximum), 19.92mm; Diameter (Minimum), 18.75mm; Thickness, 0.49mm; Weight, 1.20g.

An almost complete, but clipped medieval silver groat of Edward IV (first reign AD 1461 - 1470), dating to AD 1464 - 1470. Mint of London. Initial mark crosss. North no. 1570. The coin has a 90 degree bend, probably accidental. Obverse: Crowned bust facing within tressure of arches, trefoils on cusps. Quatrefoils by bust. Legend: EDWARD DI GRA REX ANGL Z FRANC Reverse: Mint within two concentric circles. Long cross pattée dividing legends with three pellets in each angle.
