A clipped, chipped and polished silver post medieval coin, uncertain ruler and mint, possibly a half penny of Elizabeth I (AD 1561-1582). Pelleted borders can be seen on both sides but no other details due to extreme polishing. The coin has a crease across the diameter, probably indicating it has been folded and unfolded.

A silver penny of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603) possibly 2nd issue AD1560-1561. London mint. The rim shows significant wearing and many letters missing. Obverse has crowned bust facing left within beaded inner circle, lettering outside circle [E·D·]G·RO[SA·]SINE·[SPINA] meaning Elizabeth by the Grace of God a rose without a thorn.
Reverse has a long cross fourchée over quartered shield, surrounded by lettering CIV[I TAS L]ON DON. Mintmark absent. Die Axis is 7 o'clock.
