A copper-alloy Roman barbarous radiate, copying a coin of Victorinus (AD 269-271), dating to the period c.AD 275-285 (Reece period 14). [M?]IIRS-O-C reverse type depicting Mars walking left holding transverse spear and trophy(?). Prototype of Mint II. This coin is probably copying a MARS VLTOR reverse type of Victorinus (cf. Normanby no. 1445), although Mars is depicting walking the wrong way and the legend may well be retrograde. cf. Normanby no. 1918.
Measurements: 14.39 mm in diameter, 1.51 mm thick and 1.23g in weight.
