Copper alloy coin. Probably a barbarous radiate, though the scyphate or concavo-convex flan makes this appear to be of native British manufacture in an older - if not anachronistic - tradition. Initially checked against ABC, where it does not appear. Suggested date: Late Roman, 275-285, Reece period 14. The unusual combination of features commends this as a find of note. Obverse description: radiate head right. Reverse description: Stick man with arms to sides and a lunate headdress. Diameter: 17.6mm, Weight: 2.23gms, die axis: probably 12
