Roman copper alloy radiate probably an irregular (barbarous) copy of unclear emperor, possibly PAX AVG reverse type (standing figure facing left holding out branch to left), AD 275-285. The coin has been pierced with a worn circular piercing near the edge at 2 o'clock on the obverse, 5 o'clock on reverse, the piercing has worn through to the edge. Reuse of Roman coins by piercing for suspension or attachment to an object is known in both the Roman and early Early Medieval period. Finds from the same field cover both periods.

A slightly worn copper-alloy Barbarous Radiate of late 3rd century date. This coin appears to be an amalgam of images and legends from various coins of the late 3rd century. The obverse legend seems to have been mis-copied from a coin of Claudius II, whilst the image is that of another emperor; the reverse image shows the standing eagle which is only seen on posthumous issues of Claudius II, but bears the legend 'CONSERVATO AVG' (mis-spelling of 'CONSERVATOR AVG'), rather than the correct 'CONSECRATIO'. It measures 16.6mm in diameter, 1.4mm thick and weighs 1.77g.
