Part of a copper alloy Roman coin; a contemporary copy of a radiate (a barbarous radiate) copying a coin of Claudius II (268 - 270AD), Divus Claudius type, with CONSECRATIO (altar) reverse, struck 270AD.
Only half of the coin survives and it seems to lack any inscription. Many barbarous radiates are thought to have been produced between c.275-85AD due to a shortage of small change in Britain.
