There is a section that has been removed from the coin from 1 o’clock to 5 o’clock and the coin is also slightly bent. A copper alloy radiate of Gordian III dating to the period AD 243 - 244 (Reece period 12). [MAR]S P[R]OPVG reverse type depicting Mars advancing right holding transverse spear and shield. cf. RIC IV, Pt III, p. 31, no. 145 for reverse type. The obverse [IMP CAES G]O[RDIANV]S PIVS AVG only appears on issues of AD 240 so this coin may be a mule. Prototype mint of Rome. There is a dark green patina with areas of light brown concretion and traces of a silver wash. Similar examples are FAPJW-35B992 and BH-32E528. Diameter: 21.9mm (max). Weight: 3.29g.

AEQVITAS AVGG reverse type depicting Aequitas standing left, her right arm extended down holding scales and her left arm holding cornucopiae. Hybrids, with obverses and reverses from different reigns, are quite common in this period.
