A contemporary plated copy of a Roman silver denarius of Severus Alexander, 222-235, SALVS PVBLICA, Mint of Rome, RIC IV, pt 2, p. 84, no. 178.s (217 – 218), showing Salus seated on the reverse. The coin has a diameter of 17.43mm and is 2.14mm thick. It weighs 2.1g. There is some damage to one edge and much of the silver plating has worn away. A very similar coin on the database is ESS-8BD770.
