A silver Roman denarius coin dating from the reign of Commodus, which was AD 175-192 (Reece Period 9). The coin dates from AD 180-192. P M TR P XVII IMP COS VII P P reverse type depicting Pietas seated left, holding sceptre, reaching out to child before her. See RIC vol. 3 no. 236.
Obverse description: laureate bust right.
Obverse inscription: [L AE] L AVREL COMM AVG P FEL.
Reverse description: Pietas seated left, holding sceptre, reaching out to child before her.
Diameter: 17.30mm. Thickness: 2.27mm. Die axis: 7.
