Cast copy of a denarius of Antoninus Pius, reverse IMPERATOR II, Victory standing left, cast from an example of RIC III, 111b, casting seams clearly visible around parts of edge, a raised ridge running transversely across Pius' face represents a scratch in the mould, probably cast in a highly tinned copper alloy. The original coin has seen some wear and so a date any time between c.AD170 and 270 is possible, probably towards the end of the sequence, c.240-70, Weight 3.32g, die axis 6 o'clock.
