A silver Roman denarius of Galba, AD68-69, (Reece period 3) The obverse shows a laureated bust of Galba with very worn inscription, possibly 'IMPR'. The reverse shows a standing figure of Livia, draped, holding patera left and a vertical sceptre right. The worn, partially legible inscription reads 'AVGVSTA'. The coin is 17.85mm in diameter and weighs 2.5g. Cf. SOM-3AD976, BH-8922A5 and BERK-D39E95 Similar coins are described in Sear, vol 1, page 08, object 2102.
