An incomplete Roman silver denarius of Trajan (AD 98-117) and dating AD 114-117 (Reece Period 8). PM TRP COS VI PP SPQR reverse type depicting Mars walking right with spear and trophy. See RIC Vol.II pg.268 no.337. There is a small triangular chip missing from the outer edge around 7 o'clock on the obverse and there is ferrous material covering part of the coin from around 7 o'clock to around 10 o'clock on the obverse.
Diameter: 19.78mm. Thickness: 2.25mm. Weight: 2.96g. Die axis: 7.

An incomplete base or plated silver Roman denarius of Severan date, possibly of Caracalla (AD 198-217) dating to the period c.AD 212-217 (Reece period 10). Reverse: (VO?)[…]TA, Emperor(?) togate, standing left sacrificing over a tripod. Prototype of the mint of Rome.
The bust type is slightly unclear due to the preservation of the coin but seems to be an older Caracalla rather than Severus, Geta, or Elagabalus. What survives of the reverse suggests a Vota type but with legend that isn't seen on Caracalla's later issues, probably indicating this is an irregular copy…
