A slightly worn and encrusted copper-alloy coin of Philip I, minted at Rome in AD 244-249. A Sestertius matching the description of this piece (with AEQVITAS AVGG S C reverse type) is recorded as RIC no. 166. However, the small size of this piece is more consistent with an As. It measures 25mm in diameter, 2.9mm thick and weighs 8.49g.
