Copper alloy coin, probably a halfpenny of George II (1727-1760), which could date from 1729-1754, with evidence for a milled edge and a possible head facing left on the obverse, and the base line and angled leg of Britannia on the reverse, but the surface is very pitted and worn, having been in the sea, so that identification is difficult. There appears to be the date 172? in exergue, below the line, which would then have to be 1729 when these halfpennies were first minted.

A modified halfpenny, possibly of George IV, 1727-1760. The edges of the coin have been hammered inwards to create a flange on both faces of the coin, thus forming a prominent rim. The reason for doing this is not clear.
