An extremely worn Post Medieval copper alloy halfpenny of William III (AD 1694-1702), dating to 1695-1701. Spink: no:3554-3556. Almost all details of the original coin have been worn away, but it is possible to see a faint outline of the bust on the obverse.  Measurements: diameter 27.69mm, weight 6.22g.

Reverse description: Britannia seated left, holding olive branch, with spear and shield. Reverse inscription: BRITAN NIA. Date in exergue 1696. Measurments: 28.10mm diameter, 27.7mm, 2.17mm thick; weight 10g.

A complete post-medieval copper alloy halfpenny of William III (AD 1694-1702) dating to 1698. Second issue, stop after date. Mint of London. Obverse description: Laureate and cuirassed bust right, legend surrounding. Obverse inscription: GVLIELMVS· TERTIVS· (William the third). Reverse description: Seated figure of Britannia left, spear in left hand, olive branch in right, shield bearing the Union flag resting on left, legend and date around. Reverse inscription: BRITANNIA 1698.

The edge is nibbled at the top on the obverse and a small area of the reverse is missing as a result of post depositional damage. It is dated 1696 on the coin. Obverse: Laureate bust right Obverse inscription: GVLIELMVS TERTIVS Reverse: Britannia seated right, arm raised left, spear and shield right. Reverse inscription: BRITANNI[A] Dimensions: 28.12 mm diameter, 2.16 mm thick and it weighs: 8.59 grammes
