A complete copper-alloy Irish halfpenny of the post-medieval period from the reign of Charles II (AD1645-1685). This coin was minted as part of Armstrong and Legge's Regal coinage between AD 1680 and AD 1684. Obverse description: Laureate and draped bust right. Obverse inscription: CAROLVS II DEI GRATIA Reverse description: Crowned harp with date 1683 Reverse inscription: MAG BR FRA ET HIB REX The coin is in a good condition with light wear on all surfaces and a little damage from corrosion around the edge.
