A complete silver halfpenny of Henry VIII (1509-1547 AD). It is doublestruck, but very poorly, having both moved and rotated between strikes, so the inscription doesn't necessarily follow as it should. The inscription reads, obverse: h [ ] SIE x[ ]INA (the 'x' seems to be combined with an S from the other strike, and the following three letters are pretty much illegible. The reverse reads: TO[R]/(misplaced pellet from centre of coin on other strike) AS/x[C]A[N]/[ ]. Given the condition of the coin, a complete ID cannot be given but it would belong to Withers's Type 2 Canterbury h…
