A complete gold uninscribed stater of Late Iron Age date (c. 100 BC - c. 43 AD). The stater is very worn. The obverse is plain and pitted and the reverse has a geometric design. The coin can probably be classified as an Early Uninscribed "O" Gold-"Geometric" Type. It is similar in some respects to others in the British Museum Collection. See Hobbs 1996. 68, plate 18, refs. 419-27.

Gold quarter stater, some wear, and abrasion on the obverse, Hobbs 1638. This type is not recorded in Van Arsdell; there are five in the BM including that illustrated in Hobbs all from Essendon, Herts and another six on the Celtic Coin Index (CCI 930963, 941350, 980498 from Watford, Tring and Bishops Stortford; 962670, 971014, 980125 unlocated). The type is related to Whaddon Chase and Tasciovanus types, distribution so far is Hertforshire (but Bishops Stortford eg noted as possibly from Essex, so this example is the most easterly so far but within the Catuvellauni/Trinovantes area.
