A copper alloy token of post-medieval date, possibly Dutch. The token is fairly worn and has a zoomorphic figure on one side which may possibly represent a griffin. The figure has a reddish-brown colouring. The obverse is equally worn but the letters A E // HTA // 1749 can be seen. The token, which is 25.4mm in diameter and 2.4mm thick, is a brownish-green colour.

One side bears a central heart which overlies a pair of crossed swords arranged in an ‘X’ formation. Cast double faced circular lead token. The token has pellets arranged regularly in rows on one side and letters and signs, W, o, lozenge and possibly M, interspersed with pellets on the other. There is a casting sprue to one side and flashing where the moulds did not fit properly around the edges. It is 26.8mm in diameter, 2.4mm thick and weighs 8.41 grams. Lead tokens were made locally for a wide variety of uses and are hard to date precisely. Those with initials are usually Post Medieval in date c.1500-1800 AD.
