An eighteenth century brass token dated to [1723]. The reverse side illustrates a picture of Britannia facing left with the inscription ‘BRITAN’ to her left hand side and ‘NIA’ to her right. The bottom of the token indicates the possible date as [1723] although centuries of wear have blurred the numbers. The obverse side illustrates the head of George I (1714-27) facing right, with the inscription ‘GEORIVS’ on his left hand side and [E] ‘EX’ to his right. A similar example can be found in Seaby. 1973: 201.
