15th - 16th Century. Copper alloy, rather crude, French 'Tournai' type jetton. Length 26.4mm, Width 24.5mm, Thickness 2mm, Diameter 26.4mm, Weight 4.6g. Obverse: Possible three fleur-de-lys within a shield - French Coat of Arms. Inscription: Illegible. Reverse: A cross of three strands - Fleuronee within a quatrefoil in the centre enclosed by a tressure of four arches. Inscription: Illegible. 1550-1630. Brass, medium size, thin Nuremberg jetton. Length 24.5mm, Truncated Width 14.8mm, Thickness 0.5mm, Diameter 24.5mm, Weight 0.6g. Probably struck by a known Guild master but illegible possibly Hanns Krauwinkel or Schultes. Obverse: Three crowns alternately with three fleur-de-lys. Reverse: Imperial orb within tressure. Illegible. Torn half of jetton only, probably damaged by the plough but very worn and corroded condition. Probable 1586-1603. Copper alloy, probable Hans Schultes II, Nuremberg Jeton. Length 20.8mm, Width 15.5mm, Thickness 0.6mm, Weight 0.5g. Obverse: The Rechenmeister has jetons and an account book to one side; and money bags on the left. There is a possible rosette emblem in the right field. Reverse: Alphabet in frame. Die axis 180 deg or 6 o'clock. Some wear and surface corrosion but very corroded/broken down edges. Reverse - the 'Reichsopel' - an orb surmounted by a cross within a double tressure of three arcs and three angles surrounded by a religious legend. Rather worn and distorted by the plough.
