A cast, copper alloy coin weight dating from 1740-1770AD. It is double sided, each side bearing a raised inscription reading S 36, indicating that it was used to weigh the Portuguese gold 4 escudos, valued then at thirty six shillings. It is 23.3mm in diameter and weighs 14.19gm. This find was recorded from an export licence and there is therefore no accurate measurement of the thickness available. Identical examples are illustrated in Withers, Lions, Ships and Angels, page 53.

Cu-alloy token or counter dating from the late 18th century. The major series of these cu-alloy tokens or counters which are depicting Queen Anne appears to have been struck in Birmingham during the reign of George III. Counters of that class bear designs based on Queen Anne's shillings and sixpences: all bear the pre-Union form of shields...and show the mis-spelling 'RIG' for 'REG' which can be seen on this counter, too. Observed dates for pieces run from 1702-1774. This one is dated '1771'.

Cast copper alloy coin weight with the letters L . S above the numbers 3 . 12 on both the obverse and reverse of the weight. These numbers equate to the value of £3 and 12 shillings and would have been the largest weight in a set of up to eleven weights used from c.1760-1773 to weigh the Portuguese moidore and 'joe' series of gold coins.
