Copper alloy coin weight probably of James I (1603-1625) possibly Charles I (1625-1649), Crowned V with small s below on the reverse. The crowned V stands for 5 shillings and sugests it is for a quarter laurel or crown (minted 1619-1657). It measures 14mm in diameter is 1.7mm thick and weighs 1.7grams, 26.23 grains. A full weight quarter laurel was 35 grains but weights were made for the legal minimum weight of the coin which was slightly less and this weight has probably become lighter due to corrosion.
