A worn post-medieval silver coin: a French 4 sols 2 deniers piece of Louis XIV minted in Tours in the early 1690s, probably 1693. This coin has traces of orange corrosion product on both faces, particularly the obverse.

Probably a silver 10 sols ('aux insignes') of Louis XIV of France, bent into a 'love token'
The practice of bending coins out of shape and smoothing the coins surface and presenting them to others as a gesture of love was common from the late 17th century until the 19th century. They were often engraved with symbols of love or the initials of the sender and recipient.
