The coin has been pierced, drilled from the obverse, behind the bust, with a mark left by initial drilling to the left of this. If a halfgroat, these would be in line with the two pellets behind the bust.

An incomplete and extremely abraded Post Medieval Tudor period silver coin. No detail can be seen on the obverse but the image of the Royal shield and the part legend PO[...]/DEV[...] can just be made out on the reverse. This legend is probably a variant of POSUI DEUM ADIUTOREM MEUM which translates as "I have made God my helper". The legend was in use on various coin denominations throughout the Tudor period but judging by the size and weight of this coin it is most likely a groat or sixpence of Elizabeth I (1558-1603 AD). Cast double faced lead token with a two headed eagle on one side and a tudor rose on the other. This was a widely used late Elizabethen type that circulated as unofficial currency. Some have the inscription 'GOD SAVE THE QUEEN' on the reverse by that is not visible here.
The token has broken in half and is 20.7mm in diameter, 13.5mm wide and 1.1mm thick, it weighs 1.87 grams.

Cast lead alloy medallion or medal of probable late post medieval date or early modern date (post 1558 - 1850). The medallion is circular in plan with a raised outer border. The medal has been slightly twisted and distorted and the detail decoration on the front face has been removed through a combination of corrosion and abrasion. The reverse is relatively flat and plain although decorative detail may have been lost. A cast, copper alloy, coin weight of early post-medieval date, probably dating from 1530-1600AD. It is square and double sided. One side carries the device of a crowned rose and the other that of a hand within a wreath. These markings suggest that it was of Continental manufacture, the hand being the mark for Antwerp in the Low Countries, and that it was used to weigh the gold crowns issued during the reigns of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I between 1526 and 1548.
