A complete cast copper alloy double-faced coin weight for a quarter laurel of James I, Third Coinage (1619-1625). Obverse: crowned ‘V’ with a small ‘s’ at the right side within a beaded circle (the mark of value = 5 shillings). Countermarked with a letter ‘I’ to the right of the crown. Reverse: laureate bust left within a beaded circle. The edges are bevelled and two opposite edges have been filed. The weight is of uneven thickness. At one corner the maximum thickness is 2.1mm and the opposite corner has a thickness of 1.3mm. 13.1 x 12.4 x 2.1mm. Weight: 2.05g. …

Clipped copper alloy 8 maravedis of Felipe III (1598-1621) of Spain, dated to 1611 on reverse, but countermarked later in under Felipe IV's reign (1621-1665) as an 8 maravedis 'resellado' which means 'resealed' or 'restruck'. The coin has the mark 'R X' on the obverse for REX and the various '8' or 'VIII' stamps refer to the denomination of the coin. Just above the RX mark, but upside-down, is another countermark which reads 165[], which gives the countermarking date of either 1654 or 1655 as one of the documented dates in Felipe IV's reign (John Naylor pers comm).

Cast zinc alloy replica or copy of a medallion or perhaps a fragment of a medallion, with the busts of William and Mary (1688-1694) facing each other on the obverse and a coat of arms, similar to that used on their guineas and half guineas, on the reverse. The busts are each within a beaded oval which are linked together by an attachment which may mimic a clasp or hinge so that the impression is meant to look like an open locket. Two copper alloy jettons, both worn with indecipherable legends, but probably rose-orb type. One has a diameter of 20.04mm and has two holes punched through near the centre and 3.5mm apart. The other is 19.45mm and has two triangular-shaped perforations about 4mm apart and set off-centre. Both could have been re-used as buttons. They are of late sixteenth to seventeenth century date.
