Post medieval token; cast lead token of probable 17th or 18th century date. The token is roughly oval and quite thick. It has the initials ‘W P’ moulded onto one face, surrounded by 7 irregularly-spaced pellets. The token is pierced with a rough hole above at the edge, above the initials, suggesting that it was threaded onto something, possibly for safekeeping. The token has a thick, cream-grey patina over its surface.

Cast double faced circular lead token. The token has pellets arranged regularly in rows on one side and letters and signs, W, o, lozenge and possibly M, interspersed with pellets on the other. There is a casting sprue to one side and flashing where the moulds did not fit properly around the edges. It is 26.8mm in diameter, 2.4mm thick and weighs 8.41 grams.
Lead tokens were made locally for a wide variety of uses and are hard to date precisely. Those with initials are usually Post Medieval in date c.1500-1800 AD.

Cast lead alloy circular double sided token. The token has a raised design of the letters WL or WE on one side; the other side has a design of a central pellet from which radiated 8 thick spokes. It is 25.3mm in diameter, 3.1mm thick and weighs 13.64 grams. Lead tokens has a wide variety of uses and were made locally, they are therefore hard to date precisely although with initials are generally thought to be Post Medieval in date c.1500-1850 AD.

A cast lead token of post-medieval date. A similar token was found in excavations in London (see Egan, 2005, p. 171, no. 938) and was dated from c. 1675-c. 1700.
The token has cast relief decoration on each side. One side bears a design comprising two crossed keys; the other side has an elaborate cross design, each arm made up of two overlapping petals.
The token is slightly worn, corroded and bent. It measures 19.3mm in diameter, 1.6mm thick and weighs 3.49g.
