A cast copper alloy Charles I unite (20 shilling) coin weight, dating from between 1625-32. The flat square weight measures 17mm by 16.9mm by 4.4mm and weighs 8.5g. On the front there is a stamped crown, with XXs (for 10 shillings) underneath and a counterstamp to the right of the crown. On the back is a left-facing bust of Charles I.

The distinction between the two is difficult due to the weight of the coin weight and the wear on the obverse face. The coin weight is an irregular square shape in plan and rectangular in section, with a slightly bowed profile. The edges of the weight are bevelled. Coin weight Post Medieval 1620-1632 Length 12mm, width 12mm, depth 2mm Square shaped decoration comprises of a crowned Vs/VIs within a beaded border on the obverse there is the crowned bust of either King James I of Charles I within a beaded border. The obverse is very worn and encrusted with corrosion, to the extent that almost no detail remains. The reverse is almost in the same condition but still readable. This is a gold coin weight for a half angel and dates from 1620-1632 when there was a dramatic upsurge in the production of these weights.

Early post medieval Copper alloy token, 16mm in diameter and 1mm thick. It commemorates the raising of the Royal standard at Nottingham on 22nd August 1642. The obverse shows a sword surrounded by the legend VICTORY AND HONOUR. The reverse shows an illustration of a large rock with the inscription FIXT ON A ROCKE. A five pointed star with central mullet breaks up the inscriptions on each side. The object is in good condition with a brownish patina and is apparently very rare.
