A very worn and corroded, irregular mid 16th-century silvered copper-alloy post-medieval groat of either Henry VIII, or Edward VI, posthumous coinage in the name of Henry VIII, possibly 'London (Southwark)' mint (c. 1544 - c. 1551 AD; cf. The coin has been pierced, presumably to convert it into a jewellery item, through the inner circle at 8 o'clock on the obverse, emerging at 3 o'clock on the reverse; the hole has abraded through.

A double-sided copper-alloy square coin weight of post-medieval date. The weight is a 'sport', that is, it does not relate to a coin as such, rather it is the product of a moneyer playing with dies in their spare time. The flan would appear to be genuine, but relate to a different coin to the dies used - those for an angel of James I. On one face the die for striking St Michael has been struck twice so that the two angels join in a mirror image. On the other face the crown has been struck twice so that the crowns are opposing. This was done by rotating the flan through 180° and st…

On this example the stamp is in the top righthand corner of the reverse face; this is the case with another 10 shilling coin weight recorded on this database (HESH-5AB641), while a different example was struck in the top lefthand corner (SUR-45BBA8). A crude, circular cast lead-alloy token, post medieval in date. The artefact has a flat reverse surface, possibly with letters 'I H', otherwise with an imprint of the surface on which this token was struck. The upper surface has a bevelled circumference and slightly dished field within. It is decorated with an off centre long cross which divides the field into quarters; there is a pellet in each quarter. The crudeness of this ostensibly unifacial token perversely suggests a post-medieval date rather than one earlier.

The dimensions of this coin would be consistent with a coin weight for a half sovereign, albeit the weight is slightly light. A post-medieval lead-alloy token of 16th-century date (North 2063). The bifacially decorated disc is not quite circular, having a straight edge at one point of the circumference. North (1960, 112) notes that such pieces were probably medalets rather than tokens as some appear to relate to Mary, Queen of Scots. These rare pieces are normally found in London, and were struck about 1574 (ibid., 112). Examples can be also found illustrated in Fletcher (2003, 49).
