A silver coin now too worn to determine the ruler but it is post-medieval in date. On one side are the initials S and M stamped at least three times. The practice of bending coins out of shape and smoothing the coins surface and presenting them to others as a gesture of love was common from the late 17th century until the 19th century. They were often engraved with symbols of love or the initials of the sender and recipient.
