Cast lead alloy circular uniface weight or token. The item has the capital letters I G or (1 G) stamped into one side, the other is blank. It is unusual to see stamped decoration which has to be done individually on a token as most tokens were cast into a decorated mould so any design is raised and the moulds could be reused. Stamping is much more common on weights and it maybe this was a home made weight for a particular purpose. It weighs considerably more than a gram or grain and may be for a specialist use. Copper alloy coin weight probably of James I (1603-1625) possibly Charles I (1625-1649), Crowned V with small s below on the reverse. The crowned V stands for 5 shillings and sugests it is for a quarter laurel or crown (minted 1619-1657). It measures 14mm in diameter is 1.7mm thick and weighs 1.7grams, 26.23 grains. A full weight quarter laurel was 35 grains but weights were made for the legal minimum weight of the coin which was slightly less and this weight has probably become lighter due to corrosion.

One side is decorated with a simply drawn outline bust facing right, the reverse is plain. Tokens with simple designs are very easy to make and continued in use for a long period, therefore a wide range of c. 1500-1800AD is given.

Post medieval brass circular medal with a design on both sides, and later piercing at 12 o'clock. The medal is 59.3mm in diameter by 4.0mm thick and weighs 65g; the piercing is 4.6mm in diameter. On one side are two standing male figures in Roman military dress including horse tail plumed helmets, facing three quarters towards each other with a three legged altar between; below is a spread eagle and in the background are countryside scenes, probably showing ploughing and harvest.
