A cast lead token. The token is flat and roughly circular. The obverse of the token depicts a double headed eagle.
The reverse depicts a Tudor rose.
The lead has gone a mid brownish-grey colour.
This token is a late Elizabethan token with a double-headed eagle on one side and rose on the other, it dates to circa 1570-1600. It is not thought to be a normal agricultural token.

A Post-Medieval French copper alloy coin: double tournois of Louis XIII (AD 1610-1643). Barrie Cook, The British Museum, states that it is stylistically a little unusual, however, there were lots of contemporary counterfeits of the French copper coinage at this time, and it can be hard to be sure on worn specimens. The left-facing bust is not usual, but did appear on some issues at the end of the reign, so it could belong to the 1640s.

A complete cast copper alloy square double-sided coin weight probably for a rose ryal of James I issued between 1604-19 (Withers & Withers 1995, 41 and 68-69). The weight indicated by Withers for this type of coin weight is 196.5gr. However, due to the loss of some of the material due to corrosion the weight of this Isle of Wight find is 169.5gr (10.99g).
