A copper alloy post medieval Nuremburg jeton of the rechenmeister type from an anonymous issuer. This example is not directly paralleled by any in Mitchiner, but is very similar to examples on p.415. Jetons such as this were used in financial calculations as is shown on this example, where the rechenmeister (accountant) is using the jetons in his calculations and entering the results in the accounts book.

Copper alloy 'four lis in a lozenge' type jetton. This example is the second generation of this type of jetton (the first generation is slightly more medieval in character and the legend reads something that makes sense, like 'VIVE LE ROI'). However this example dates 1500-1520 and the legends are entirely nonsensical with lettering that is more 'Roman' and less gothic. The place of production is Tournai. The Jetton is bent at a right angle and measures 27.1mmin diameter, 0.88mm in thickness and weighs 2.47g.
