Post-Medieval copper alloy trading token. The obverse shows a right-facing portrait wearing a double-arched crown. There does not appear to be a demarcated border between the portrait and the perimeter lettering, which is unclear but begins LXII(rest unclear). On the reverse side there is no perimeter lettering, but a beaded border on the very edge of the face. Centrally at the very top there is a small cross, underneath which reads LIA?/.??/.FR(a?)(n?)CE Underneath this lettering there are three fleur-de-lys motifs.

A copper alloy trading token issued in 1702. The obverse is unclear but shows a crest or shield surmounted by a crown and surrounded by vegetative decoration. The reverse shows, at the top, a flower with a small star on either side. Underneath is the lettering: WEST / FR?SIAE (the A and E are ligatured) / 1702 . This is followed at the bottom by a dot or point. Each side has a beaded edge.

A seventeenth century halfpenny minted during Charles II reign (1648-72). Under the Commonwealth there was no authorised copper coinage. As a result farthings, halfpennies and some pennies, were issued by towns and traders (Seaby. 1973: 180). On the reverse side of this example a square grid with sixteen square holes occupies the centre and is encircled by a dotted relief. An inscription occupies the outer rim. An eighteenth century brass token dated to [1723]. The reverse side illustrates a picture of Britannia facing left with the inscription ‘BRITAN’ to her left hand side and ‘NIA’ to her right. The bottom of the token indicates the possible date as [1723] although centuries of wear have blurred the numbers. The obverse side illustrates the head of George I (1714-27) facing right, with the inscription ‘GEORIVS’ on his left hand side and [E] ‘EX’ to his right. A similar example can be found in Seaby. 1973: 201.
