A lead alloy token of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), struck c. 1574 (North 1991: 140, ref: 2063).
North comments:
‘There exist a number of lead or pewter pieces which have in the past been described as patterns or tokens. It is more probable however that they were political medalets or counters, as some would appear to relate to Mary, Queen of Scots, and the workmanship on most is rather crude. They are normally found in London, and were struck about 1574 (North 1991: 140).
