A cast copper alloy coin weight. The weight is circular in plan and rectangular in section with rounded corners. The weight has ‘VI’ surmounted by a arched crown on one face. The other face has iron corrosion adhered to it so any decoration is not visible. The weight has an iron stained surface therefore it is brown. It measures 15.6mm diameter, 2.31mm thick and weighs 2.5g.

A cast copper alloy coin weight. The weight is sub-square in plan and rectangular in section with rounded corners. The weight is decorated on one face with a winged figure advancing to the left holding a sceptre or spear within a beaded border. The design is quite worn. The other face has ‘A // F • B’ within a border which is an illegible legend.
The weight has patches of a shiny mid green patina. It measures 16.51mm long, 16.18mm wide, 2.58mm thick and weighs 4.5g.

Post medieval coin; Struck gold fanam from the Cochin area of the Dutch West coast of India. This is a very tiny, dished coin with abstract designs of circles, lines and dots on both sides. The coin was identified by Sam Moorhead (British Museum), who notes that coins of this type were struck by the Rajas of Cochin and the Zamorins of Kalicut in the period c1600-1800. A complete cast copper alloy token, probably dating to the 17th century AD (diameter: 19mm; thickness: 2mm; weight: 3.6g).
The token is circular in plan and flat in section and is decorated on both sides. On one side, there is a rather crude 6-pointed star. On the opposing side, there appear to be a central recessed line running across the token's diameter with possible illegible numbers ot either side, although one of these numbers may read a '6' or '9'. Overall, the artefact is in a worn and corroded condition with a patchy dark green patina.

A Post Medieval coin; a contemporary copy of a Spanish gold escudo of the 16th century. The original was struck by the Emperor Charles V in the name of his mother, Joanna, Queen of Castle and Leon and himself. It would have been struck between 1537 when the escudo was introduced and 1555 when Joanna died.
