An extremely worn, probably post-Medieval silver coin, probably a penny or clipped half-groat of an unidentified ruler, dating from AD 1500 - 1750. Both sides are smoothed almost flat and the flan is cracked. The coin is 15.6mm in diameter and 0.7mm thick. It weighs 0.52g.

Silver coin. The flan of a hammered coin worn entirely smooth on both sides. Paired parallel lines might hint at this having been folded as a keepsake and subsequently flattened, the former being an oft-reported adaptation of the sixpence of William III (1693-1702). Worn flan of a probably hammered post-medieval coin; the mass would allow a threepence, with letters and devices stamped on one side: STEI [double-struck] and M.B, along with a floret with up to 16 narrow petals. No discernible trace of original obverse and reverse remains discernible, and the flan is creased and folded with the added lettering sited on areas standing proud on that side.
