Cast lead token dating to the Post-Medieval period, (1500-1700). The object is circular in plan and 17.82mm in diameter. The upper surface is decorated with a moulded animal, possibly a dog or a lion, advancing right. The animal has a long curved tail and one foot appears to be raised to just below the mouth. The reverse of the object is flat and undecorated. The object could have been used for a wide range of functions including as a gaming piece.

Lead token inscribed D C above single raised transverse line. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely but those with intials are generally Post Medieval in date (1500-1850 AD). Diameter 15.72mm, thickness 2.05mm, weight 3.19g.
